haven't tried it, but the initial reviews are less than stellar. People are saying it's too old feeling for having just came out.

I'll give it a try later on anyway. Something to be said for quick and solid.

Definitely mixed reviews so far though.

edit: Smooth so far, haven't really messed with it extensively though. Battery is down to 20% from 2 hours of pandora and then the whole backup/wipe/install process.

I figured out I don't give a damn about themes, since there is something wrong with almost all of them. Either they are too tacky to even look at, or they screw something up. So far my favorite (or what I tolerate the most) is the Droid X them with the regular bar. However, I haven't found one yet that fixed the dark text on dark buttons entirely. They get closer and color, but nobody has fixed that.
NextTheme is okay, but the dial pad looks like icky poo.
I think I am going to build my own, using bits and pieces from some of the popular ones.
Anyway, I am more open to trying BB again, since I was enamored with how Lithium and Sapphire integrated ROM Manager downloads with themes to try out right off the bat.
BTW-How is the BB experience compared with others? I know the past ones were not built from source. What does this ultimately mean?

New Simply Stunning is out too, and blackdroid finished up Ultimate Droid 9, waiting for it to be released any time now.

BB .5 has been fine for me. All I need is a decent, simple black bar theme and I'm good. I did try the new Simply Stunning 4.8 and I like the features, but I had massive issues with the Unthemed version of it. The themed version works fine, but I think the theme it comes with his horrible looking. So back to BB .5 until something is worked out with the unthemed version.

I'm still using Sapphire 1.1.1. :p Might switch back to CM 6, just need to grab 928Blackdroid's Black Glass theme.

I had some issues with the unthemed version as well. Surprised because SS is usually solid.

Had a few force closes using BB .5, had some problems with GPS, not worth trying to live with at the moment.

Went back to Sapphire with the invertnito red theme. Pretty sharp, except for the icons.

Yea I had a ton of issues. It would do this weird boot sequence where it would show the animation, then flash the desktop quickly, then go right back to the boot animation without showing the M then it would boot. It would also reboot whenever I plugged it into USB. I also got a bunch of force closes with various things. I tried four different kernels and had the same results on all of them. Also wiped and reflashed multiple times and even re-downloaded and still had issues. Flash the themed version, no issues at all. I just think it's ugly, so I restored BB .5 from backup.

UD9 might be out today, BD has food posioning and doesn't want to release it until he's able to be in the IRC channel giving support to people who need it. UD8's awesome so I can't wait to try 9.

Looks like SS 4.8 unthemed version had a bug. ChevyNo1 fixed it and re-uploaded. I just flashed and it works fine now.

And now UD 9 is coming out? Ugh. I can never rest!

Here is my rundown for trying to BB .5 then going to others.
BB ran awesome! Just one issue...no matter the kernel I used, battery life was horrendous. From 100% to 60% in really, really light use. Then from 50% to 5% within a couple of hours.
So I gave up on Bugless. A shame, it was really responsive.

Went back to Sapphire, figured out pretty fast why I ditched it since it went to 1.1.1.
My search button doesn't work. The guy that asked for help got a lot of shit for it. I saw he later did get help, but it didn't work for me at all. I swear Droid Forums is weird.

Went to CM6. Tried wiping several times, but after only a day's use I would get data connection errors.

Back to Lithium I suppose.

.

I flipped from Sapphire 1.1.1 to CM6 due to some instability with auto-reboots I was getting, but CM6 still hasn't nixed that screen redraw issue. Couldn't get it to resolve regardless of the launcher settings.

Running an unofficial Sapphire build now from TanknSpank, 1.1.4. Not too many changes, but it does allow me to brag a little because its been synced to AOSP for Android 2.2.1. :p

The newest Ultimate Droid is also 2.2.1. I believe it's build FRG83

I don't run UD because of its owner and his 'policies' of stealing other dev's code without proper credit. Yes, its all open source code, but its good courtesy to give credit to the dev who created it. Blackdroid has claimed credit for stuff Google's made. :p

The latest CM nightlies are 2.2.1 as well. CM 6.1/6.0.1 will have 2.2.1, I believe, but there's no release date for those.
