Buffer underun

ive been getting this lately on my artec cdr52x. i got them when i first installed it until i realized it had to be on the secondary channel away from the hd's. then it went away. well now its back again for no reason. Why?

is the drive using dma transfers?

Yes, i had gotten knocked down to pio because of a user error, lol, but now its back to dma 2. but im still getting the buffer underun

Do you have enough free HDD space? How about enough free ram? Other than that, a new CD-Burner with buffer underun protection (which works really well - trust me) can be had for under $20 after rebate...

thats probably the one i bought. ive only had it a week. maddog
512mb ddr3200,
and lots of hd space.

Sounds like a bad drive then, if youve only had it a week get it exchanged for a working one.
