Hey guys,
I got a HP 9150 burner from compusa and when I tried to do a disk to disk burn last night I had a buffer underrun error on my first song. I have a semi-old dvd drive that came with an old compaq pc, and that is the problem

my Q is they are both on the same ide channel, with the dvd as master and the burner as slave. Now, if I stuck the burner on the secondary channel as master would this help?

I am getting a new CD-rom in the mail but until then, is there any way I could maybe get this to work.

i knew my dvd was Sh!tty, but come on, if it cant read at 4x what can it do?

thanks a lot guys,
Sam

having both drives on the same ide channel is not the ideal for copying on the fly. you could either move one drive onto the other ide channel(this is making the assumption that your cd drive can supply data fast enough to the burner in the first place) or make an image on to your hdd & copy from there!

I keep my hard drive on the primary master, CDROM on seconday master and CDRW on secondary slave. I have no problems with that setup. I used to have the CDRW on the primary slave and it got lot's of underruns.
