Buffer Overrun?

Hi all. I just tried to open some videos that are in Quicktime format, and when I double click them I get an error titled "Visual C++ Error: Buffer Overrun has corrupted program's internal structure and it is not safe to run" or something like that, and the videos won't open. Note that they have worked before. Any ideas what this could be, and what could have caused this?

Thanks guys!

If you haven't done so already, try updating QuickTime to the latest version: QuickTime 7.1.5, which fixes some security problems in previous versions.

If QuickTime recently updated itself to 7.1.5 and now stuff doesn't work anymore, maybe you have some exploit-laced clips there? Are they from sources that could be malicious?

It's your video player that is crashing. As mechBgon said you should try to update or reinstall your player. You can also try playing the videos with a different program. VLC is a very good player that supports many formats and doesn't rely on windows codecs. It's also free. http://videolan.org/
