Buffalo wild wings commercials make no sense.

What kind of fan hopes for overtime? You hope for a win, unless overtime is the only possible alternative (i.e. down by 7 with 5 seconds left in football, but even then you're hoping to tie the game, not really overtime itself).

In these commercials, the fans seem to cheer the fact that the game is extended, not that their team has scored. In one, after fans hope for overtime, the green team scores a touchdown after their opponent is sabotaged by the groundskeaper at the stadium. The groundskeaper then sabotages the green team's extra point, forcing the game into overtime like the fan wanted.

Thanks for your time.

See bolded text. That's exactly the point.

They get to stay at BWW longer. We go there a lot. But I'd rather my team won in regulation time than went into OT.
I always have to set the DVR for an hour longer when I record the 49ers in case they go into OT. In fact, they have been playing for almost 45 minutes but I can't start watching for another hour and a half.

They are cheering the fact that they can stay at the bar drowning their troubles in food and alcohol with the illusion of camaraderie with their football brethren instead of going home to their tiny tract homes and apartments and having to spend time alone realizing how horribly dysfunctional and miserable their lives have become.

After sitting through that four overtime K-State game last night, I'm fine with winning in regulation time.

That ad irked me from the first time I saw it. A real fan wants to see a clean game. not one that is decided by refs making bad calls and equipment malfunctions.

The only way I could rationalize it is that they're just football fans with no vested interest in either team, thus OT = more exciting game, more game to watch, and not yet having to go back to their nagging wives and clean the rain gutters.

Jesus, I thought that thing was gonna go forever. If 5OT occurred there would have been problems. They dropped in the rankings due to that "win".

My work wouldn't allow me more than an hour even if the game did go into overtime. And what kind of sporting event is played during the lunch hour except for March Madness or the Olympics?

The ads assume that the only reason you're in their doors is because of sports. If the game ends then obviously you have no reason to stay and will leave immediately.

That only dumb people go to BWW and watch football?

Hmm I think you missed the point too! I'm not saying the commercial is good but trying to examine what's going on in the commercial is really not that difficult. :p

Bww is awful anyway. The only good thing in there is the blazin sauce.

I wouldn't mind BWW in the area. all we have here is Wing Stop--which is the worst thing to ever happen to chicken wings. ughhhhh

What's so bad about wingstop? They're cheap, and the wings aren't terrible. I get takeout from them occasionally, though I've been making my own, more recently.

Has anyone else noticed the crazy increase in food prices at BW3 over the years? I love their sauces but now refuse to go back because of the cost. I was going for lunch and their "lunch specials" are now all $7.99+. Sheesh.

The real issue with commercial is:
1.When it started airing (last football season I think), Detriot (the Lions) and St. Louis (the Rams) were both terrible teams, who would want to see 2 bottom feeders duke it out in overtime?
2. The groundskeeper guy uses the sprinkler system to force overtime...except both teams play in domes with artificial surfaces, therefore there wouldn't be sprinklers.

It used to annoy me more, but not I just kind of chuckle at it. And I like BWW even though I haven't been there in a while.

Same here. I don't really want to go anymore because the value isn't very good.
