$10 for a case of Budweiser is a pretty good deal - you must be near a big college campus. When I was in undergrad, we'd buy cases of Natural Light for $10, but I never saw "good" beer that cheap. I'm in grad school now and vowed never to drink cheap beer again.

Every now and then I have a relapse. I drank a bunch of PBR last night at the bar because it was 55 cents a can. I'm regretting that decision this morning.

I have drank varieties of beer all over the world, from Brussels to Saigon, and lived in what I consider the microbrew capital of the U.S.A., the Pacific Northwest, for my entire life. I know beer. I hate it when people say how disgusting Budweiser and Coors are.

They are great beers. They are the Coca Cola of beers. Cheap and drinkable and not too filling, they are the kind of beers you can sit around a campfire and drink all night. The kind of beers that Joe Middleclass won't blow his paycheck keeping a stock of in his fridge. Some beers are meant to be analyzed, some are meant for easy and enjoyable consumption. Bud is the latter. Get over it.

I agree. However what I believe irritates many people about Bud is how Bud advertises it's made from the absolute finest ingredients blah blah blah, when in actuality it's made from sh!t compared to proper beer ingredients.

It's all subjective.

People like different things.

If you have 6 friends that are new to beers, I suggest all of you getting a different 6 pack and everyone takes one of each... or two friends and you each get 3... or you just man up and take a sixer by yourself and hope for the best.

Find a couple you like and have vary which ones you buy so you don't get sick of any one beer.

If you are new to beer, you might want to start out on lighter colored to amber beers.

It's $10 for a 12 pack here. It makes no sense to get Budweiser when you can get a six pack of Gordon Biersch made beer at Trader Joe's for $5 a six pack. If you want something that is light then just go for PBR which is only $6.50 a 12 pack.
