Budweiser is $0.40/can?!

That must be a grocery store special. I've never seen a case for less than 15, not that I'd actually buy Budweiser.

Well, there's that. But it is convenient and sort of a lowest-common-denominator beet for entertaining. I used to buy it now and then when you could get a 12 for $8.99 but no way any more. Once you couldn't cover it with a ten I quit.

You can't get a 12 pack for under 10 bucks? wow...

I think the going rate is like $10.69 + tax.

I don't know were he's buying his beer, but you can easily pick it up for $7.99 + tax and deposit both in NY and Maryland (- the deposit).

EDIT: And that's for bottles too.

Cases in Kentucky are $14. 😛

I'm talking bottles in Tucson. Convenience store price. Grocery stores are usually about the same, maybe a tad less.

The REAL sham is Coors Light for $7 a can (poured into a cup) at Baseball games and such. I'll take my $5 water bottle over that any day, Coors is nasty.

BEER IS NOT WINE. Enjoy it, love it, but don't get snobby about it.

I have drank varieties of beer all over the world, from Brussels to Saigon, and lived in what I consider the microbrew capital of the U.S.A., the Pacific Northwest, for my entire life. I know beer. I hate it when people say how disgusting Budweiser and Coors are.

They are great beers. They are the Coca Cola of beers. Cheap and drinkable and not too filling, they are the kind of beers you can sit around a campfire and drink all night. The kind of beers that Joe Middleclass won't blow his paycheck keeping a stock of in his fridge. Some beers are meant to be analyzed, some are meant for easy and enjoyable consumption. Bud is the latter. Get over it.

Bud for $5.69 for a sixpack of bottles or Pete's/Sam Adams for 6.99? This isn't exactly snobbery to my middle class paycheck.

$15/24 beers = $0.63/beer

$8/6 beers = $1.33/beer

$7/6 beers = $1.17/beer

I use the $8 because that is what the cheaper craft brews cost around here. The even fancier ones are $9. Either way if you go buy a sixpack of craft brew you're spending a hell of a lot more than you would on Bud.

Sam Adams is the lowest common denominator for entertaining when I throw parties. Bud.... :shivers;

1 beer = $3.50 😉

When I was in college (1998-2002) we could get a 24 case of PBR Light for $4.99.

Granted it tasted like crappy light beer, but so does miller lite / bud light /etc..
