Want to build a budget pc.

Was looking at a X3 phenom core
Not to sure bout the motherboard
An Ati 3650
2 gigs of ram

Already have the rest

One quick question, if a videocard has two outputs can i have it working on a screen and a tv?

thanks

no overclocking.
no preference
using it for internet, email, storage for cam pics, movies, tv, having the pc connected to the big screen
no gaming
budjet $300 as i have most parts

i did search but coudnt find a clear answer on whether you can have both screens working at same time, and if they can preform different tasks

I think you can stretch the desktop to fill both screens so they can function independantly.
If you get a 780g/790gx motherboard, you can use the video card on the motherboard and not buy an extra one since it can handle hi-def video and has two outputs.
Do you want a micro-ATX (small) motherboard or a normal-sized ATX motherboard? mATX fits in regular cases, but not the other way around.

Since it seems like this is almost an htpc build, I recommend:

4GB of RAM
ASRock 780g motherboard or Asus m-ATX 780g motherboard
Athon x2 4850e (low power) or Athlon x2 5600 2.9ghz

oh so they can function independently. thats neat.
i dont have much choice for mobos. Buying from a canadian store.. they mainly have asus and gigabyte.
Atx or micro doesnt matter. My case is normal sized.
why not a more powerful processor?
