What budget ram would you guys suggest to run 1:1 ratio 260/260 for athlon 3200+ 90nm
On a really tight budget.

Thanx

cause when a BUDGAAYYYYTTTT manufacturer labels a piece of their hardware HARDCORE they mean its comparable to the value selection of other UNbudaayyyytttt manufacturers....

check teh sticky

nick you get nice overclocks man!

Actually they do 2.5 at PC4000 and even if they "only" did CAS 3 at DDR 500 it doesn't matter for athlon systems anyways.

That's exactly what all RAM higher than PC3200 is (PC3200 that happens to do higher speeds well), since there's no official JEDEC specification above that--this is why you don't see motherboards saying their board can support DDR600, etc.

I'll run my sticks all night and see if they can pass memtest 3.2 at 265 with timmings of 2.5 , 4, 4, 10 1T @ 2.8 vdimm. I know they can pass at those timmings and 1T at 260. So we'll see how much they "suck"

CH5's are a really good bang for your buck. One of these is the kingston hyper x 3200 on sale for under 160 for a pair at frys. Check it out

Yea, I checked out those Kingston Hyper X 3200. Nice price, considering I was looking at Crucial Ballistix for $250. Is that good RAM that will allow me to overclock a 3000+ or 3200+ Winchester to about 2.2GHz - 2.4GHz with tight timings? Or am I better off with the Ballistix? If the difference is negligible (1-5 FPS), I would go for the Kingston.
What about this?

The difference is even negligible with value RAM, but if you can get HyperX that cheap go ahead and play around with it a little bit.

There is a rumor that some twinmos el cheapo DIMMs have the same chips as OCZ VX. It hasnt been verified but it may turn out to be a real bargain. BTW, fast ram makes a difference if you are an enthusiast. All depends what your priorities are.
