Budget PC build with a 6950 gpu

I have an old HD 6950 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 card that I would like to use to build a pc that could run Fallout 4. My expectations aren't too high but would like to see if it's possible. Also have an SSD and Windows and would like to keep the price of new parts under $300.

If it's viable what processor/motherboard would get the most bang for the buck?

$300 needs to include processor, cooler, motherboard, RAM, power supply and case, correct? Or do you also need a hard disk in addition to the SSD?

For Fallout 4, AMD FX 6 and 8 thread processors give very good results for the money, especially with a little overclock. E.g. FX-8320E. But in many other games I'd rather have an i3 or i5 because not all games are as efficiently threaded.

Fallout 4 also likes high speed RAM a lot more than most other games.

I'm estimating $120 for case, cooler, psu and RAM if I buy used or wait for sales. SSD is large enough for now.

I'd prefer it to be able to handle Fallout 4 but it will be used for a wide variety of games.

Which i3 or i5 would you recommend with mobo for around $180?

I found an i5 4590 for $160 and MSI H81M-E33 for $54 if that would be worth stretching the budget.

To be fair 6950 isn't so fast that FX would bottleneck it in any game. It's only if you later on upgrade the graphics card that you would benefit from i5 in games that are less efficiently threaded than FO4.

If you have chance to visit a microcenter: FX-8320E + Asrock 990FX Killer $155 AR

Combine with a 212 EVO $25 AR for a light overclock.

PSU: XFX 600W XT $47 AR shipped.

Still got $75 left for case and RAM, though rebates can take time to come through..
