Budget Graphics Card Question!

Ok, so ... my mum calls me the other day complaining that my sister cannot play a certain game on her PC as it runs too sluggish. The reason for this is because the graphics card is an IGP (onboard nVidia MX Series with 64MB Shared) and is not that great. My sister plays games like The Sims for example and she just bought a copy of Guild Wars to play. My other sister who already had a copy of Guild Wars plays it on my mum's PC which runs fine on her 128MB GeForce3 Ti200 AGP, so im told.

Anyway she wanted me to look for a budget AGP card for my sisters PC so she can at least play Guild Wars without the constant slideshow. Her PC is not great, i think its an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ or 2100+, can't quite remember. I have narrowed the search down to either an ATi Card or nVidia Card (obviously :p) and i wanted to know which one is better?

265MB Sapphire Radeon 9600XT AGP Retail - £69.71

OR

256MB XFX GeForce 6200A AGP Retail - £53.99

I was looking at a 9700/9800 (as i owned a 9800) but they are still rather too much above the budget of £55-£60 for a graphics card. Now i do get 10-15% discount on all purchases as i work for the company that sells these cards inparticular. So ... which is the best to go for? I have never owned, tested or seen both of these cards running so i have absolutely no idea, i hope someone can relate to these cards and help me out here!

Thanks! :)

Regards,

Paul

Any reason for this? I tried to find reviews on the two cards but could not find any that would help out. Is the 9600XT a much quicker/better card than the 6200?

its faster, there arent gonna be any reviews comparing the two. but try to find a review of the x600 vs the 6200 (the x600 is this gens equivilant to the 9600XT). the x600/9600xt is faster

I can play the sims on a geforce 5200 128 mb on 800x600 quite nicely with every thing maxed out. Even 1024x768 would work nicely too. The 9600XT is what I would get.

9600XT is in the AGP charts and 6200 is in the PCI-E charts. Not sure it's really valid to compare them that way. I guess it gives a rough idea though.
