Budget gaming PC

Is it possible to build a budget gaming PC for under CAN$600 including tax? I haven't built a PC for ten years and I've no idea what is out in the minefield of PC components. I don't care about playing the latest and greatest or about running at the highest resolution or detail level. The cheaper the better. I want something with a small form factor that can still be upgraded with memory or a new gfx card. Thanks
 
Do you need a monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers? Do you have any reusable parts? Please answer sticky questions.

Do you need an OS?
 
I don't think we have Micro Centers, at least it's not a name I'm familiar with. We do pay tax on internet purchases.

Sorry; I already have monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers and OS. No reusable parts. This is from scratch.

Might want to post over in general hardware or have a mod move this to that discussion thread. You will get plenty of advice on how to build what you need there.
