I haven't been following hardware for a few years. Will this work with my motherboard, power supplies and Windows XP SP3 (Direct X).

Yup. Your PSU has the 6-pin it needs, the 7750 sips power so there shouldn't be a problem with amperage, and everything else is backwards compatible. Just note you're not going to be playing any DX10- or DX11-only titles on a DX9 OS. (Which shouldn't be a problem.)

It'll work, and it's a fine card for ~$50. A 7770 is obviously going to be faster, but you get what you pay for.

Thank you for your help. I would love to get a better card but it is hard justifying putting a lot of money into this rig when I've got the itch to get another machine. Windows XP quits getting updated next year so this rig will get either Win7 or 8 installed. The card also runs at 900MHz so it should be a little closer to the 7770 that has been recommended.

I have a Q6600 at 3.06 ghz (340x9) and I have it paired with a 7850 2GB @1150/5500 and I can play any game at 1080p with very high settings. I keep the AA to 2x. I haven't tried Crysis 3 yet, but it's still a decent system to run at 30fps+ in modern games with this card.

My suggestion is a 7850. I got mine for 140 shipped used.
