1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing. Some gaming EX.(Civilization 5, Total war)
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
700-800 US dollars
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
US
4. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
1920 × 1080
Hey guys i'm building a budget computer for gaming and i would like some input

CPU i5 3570k
MOBO Asus p8z77 or Gigabyte ga-z77x
Power supply corsair CX600
Video card gtx 660 or 7870 oc maybe gigabyte
ram kigston hyperx blue 8 GB 1600
Hard drive 1TB 7200 RPM toshiba
Case Antec 3 100 2

Any input would be great also would there be any reason to go with 3770k graphic wise or any of the new i5 or i7( 4770K ect)?
What's a highly recommended graphics card company for GTX 660 or 7870?
Also am i missing anything from my build?
thanks,

"3770K" and "budget" do not belong in the same sentence. I like Sapphire cards, because they usually have the best rating on newegg. But not always. I have one gigabyte card that is really quiet and runs cool.

Welcome to AT!

The best thing to do is to edit your original post in this thread with the answers to the questions found in the sticky at the top of the General Hardware section. Without knowing more specifics about your budget, monitor resolution, game titles, etc. it's hard for us to give you useful advice.

hey guys thanks I'm happy to be here. I made the changes required let me know I'm trying to complete this in the month a two.

thanks,

Build looks good. You definitely do not need a 3770 - certainly not at this budget. The 7870 is faster than the 660 and often cheaper, so that's the best bet there.

Do you have an OS? That is not listed above and you'll need it. Also, make sure that the Kingston RAM isn't 1.65v - Kingston old-stock RAM is often sold to unsuspecting buyers, and should not be used with the 3570K platform. And one last thing - the Antec 302 is quite old at this point - I'd consider the Corsair 200R instead.

thanks i think i saw a 7870 for around 180ish. Oh almost forgot OS is window 7 64 bit Corsair 200r looks good a little plain. So what voltage should i look for when buying Kingston Ram or would you recommend another brand?

Does that mean you already own a legal copy of Windows 7, so no money in the budget needs to go toward that?

The specified voltage for all DDR3 is 1.5V. (That's a slight oversimplification, but one that's good enough for our purposes here.) Don't buy RAM that specifies a higher voltage than that. Lower is fine.

It's a little hidden. It's only available from their Outlet Home page. It's not on the Outlet Deals one.
Or you could've just gone to slickdeals.

Usually, if the refurb is from the original manufacturer, they should have tested the equipment before putting it back up for sale.
