Budget A64 Build

I got that psu from newegg, and it was advertised as 16a, but when it came it had 21a. I think they've updated/improved their psus recently, so if you get a newer one, it should have more power. No guarantees though.

I'm running a Rosewill 500W psu and its been more than enough for my setup, only 50 at newegg.com

A64 2800+ @2.4ghz
6800 OC
160gb HD
Leadtek Tuner
1xdvd burner

that powersupply should be fine for that system. I have the sl350 blue version and it runs fine in my system. I have 3 hdds and 2 burners and my system has no stabilty issues.

Antec has recently upgraded most of their PSUs. Even if it is not noted, it is probably one of the new ones. Whatever the case, a PSU is important, but a good 300 - 350w PSU is still fine for a basic system. The only time PSU requirements get crazy is when you are adding high end video, many HDDs, and overclocking the piss out of the system.

You're right! Got the antec case and the PSU 12V is at 21a (not 16, as shown in the website picture). Not a bad case for a budget build ($63 shipped).

And definitely no fancy video card involved. Just for general home use.

I have that same psu with a very similar setup, and I have had now problems what so ever. As Frown66 mentioned the model has 21a on the 12v, unless they have the older model. I run all of what you mentioned with a 9700pro and I overclock my cpu about 500mhz. Has been going for 4 months 24/7 without a hiccup.
