Well I've been out of the loop for a while...so some of the newer 939 stuff is foreign to me.

I need a budget 939 setup. It needs to overclock fairly well. It needs to have AGP.

Here is what I was considering:

3000+ Venice - $146 at ZZF
EpoX 9NDA3J - $90 @ ZZF

What do y'all think? I know the 939 3000's have the 9x multi, so I'm expecting some comments about that. But is the $50 difference worth it? Does the EpoX hit high enough HTT speeds to get decent overclocks with the lower multi? How are newer Venices oc'ing?

Edit: Is the retention mechanism on the 939 boards the same as the 754 boards? I have an extra Zalman 7000 lying around that I'd like to use if at all possible.

Thanks for any help. :)

That looks like a very good budget setup. Assuming all of Epox's nForce4 boards are based on the same layout and use the same quality components, that should be a very good overclocking board.

the retention mechanism for 754 and 939 are the same.

have you considered the msi neo2 plat? seems to be very popular as well.

I would personally recommend the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum for your mobo, as it kicks ass, I know, I have one ;) .

As far as the retention mechanism goes, I'm 99% sure its the same between S754, S939, and S940.

I considered the MSI but it costs about $30-40 more. Any other good 939 boards in the sub $100 range?

Edit: Nevermind I wasn't seeing the -F version. What's the difference?
