Adam Sandler is involved in this? It's got to be crap. Tried to watch a movie the other night with him and Jennifer Aniston in it. I couldn't make it past about 30 minutes. Plus the previews of Bucky make it look like the worst piece of shit, ever.

This!

who is this?

I'm cutting him some slack. Pretty much the only movies I liked from him are "Happy Gilmore" (LOVED that movie), "Billy Madison" and "Grandma's Boy" (LOVED this one too). "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" was ok. It grew on me.

honestly i think chuck and larry was better than zohan. granted i 'watched' them both on cable while i was performing a more interesting activity (like playing with a rubber band or paper clip).

adam sandler's more retarded movies are generally the funnier ones. as for his studio's, i'm pretty sure we can agree everything has been crap except grandma's boy, which is just a bit of a cult classic for people in the, oh, 20-30 range. i doubt that one was as popular with the kiddies, which is probably why it flopped.

To quote the reviewer I saw on TV today"

"After my screening of Bucky Larson, I stormed into my editor's office and demanded a raise. Nobody should have to endure that much cinematic torture on my salary."

😀

I can watch Waterboy over and over and over. Movie is hilarious. Same with Happy Gilmore.

Mr. Deeds was okay, along with Big Daddy and Zohan.

Little Nicky sucked.

Grown-ups was the worst.

allow me to add something to this:

'adam sandler's more retarded movies are generally the funnier ones...as long as he doesn't spend the entire movie in a stupid voice that would get tired on a 3 minute album skit'

Happy Madison is hit & miss obviously. Frankly, there are no comedians that capable of constantly churning out successes. Will Farrell has plenty of bombs. Happy Madison is also a COMPANY that makes bets on scripts, actors & directors that may or may not churn out hits or quality(something entirely different). Adam Sandler just runs or has a stake in it, I don't know, but he is funnier than most comedians. He's done way more movies than mentioned in this meager thread so far.

This movie looks shit and it's funny that Dante (naked pot dealer from Grandma's Boy) is acting as obnoxious as possible to "sell" that movie. lol

Nick Swardson is obnoxiously untalented. sometimes sandler shows glimers of something more...nick, just a freakin retard.

sandler is talented. possibly even intelligent. a good actor, even. but he'd eat fucking dogshit for money.

Talented - > No way.

Intelligent - > Possibly the same way Glenn Beck is intelligent.

Good Actor -> Calling him a good actor makes Rob Schneider an average actor.

close-minded -> you

i didn't call his movies good. but he has (or rather has built) some acting chops...they are probably showcased in 1/10 of the stuff he does, at best.

shit, rob schneider's not a terrible actor, either. again, he's just the type that would fellate an elephant for some quick cash.

perhaps i'm jaded based on the fact that current day 'good actors' are basically just people who are naturally themselves on camera. that's not acting, that's attentionwhoring.

Where are you getting that he has "acting chops"? I can't think of any movie that he was anything more than passable in. Seems like Punch Drunk Love got him some praise but he was just average at best in it. Reign Over Me was better but still nothing stellar from him (it was a lot better role and movie than he's normally in, but that's not due to him). Don't tell me you thought Click was great acting? Same with that shitty Judd Apatow movie he was in.

Sandler is not a good actor. He's capable of being ok, even enjoyable, but a good actor he is not. Rob Schneider is a terrible actor.

I don't really find any of these former SNL guys (at least from this and later generations) good actors. They can be enjoyable, but I don't find them to be anything more than ok at best. Any good roles they get actually just make me wonder how much better it would have been with someone else, maybe an unknown. All the press for them seem to be more about how its one of them doing a role where they're not just acting like retards the entire time (which can be enjoyable, but its very hit and miss for me).

Producer: Watch this. A.W.E.S.O.M-O, given the current trends of the movie going public, can you come up with an idea for a movie that will break $100 million box office?
Cartman: [as A.W.E.S.O.M.-O] Um... Okay, how about this: Adam Sandler is like in love with some girl. But it turns out that the girl is actually a golden retreiever or something.
Mitch: Oh! Perfect!
Executive: We'll call it "Puppy Love".
Mitch: Give us another movie idea, A.W.E.S.O.M.-O.
Cartman: Um... How about this: Adam Sandler inherits like, a billion dollars, but first he has to become a boxer or something.
Mitch: "Punch Drunk Billionaire".
