Buckwheat-filled pillows

hi y'all,

anyone use one of those buckwheat-hull filled pillows?

do they live up to all the hype?

i'm debating between a buckwheat and a memory foam pillow.

i'm leaning towards buckwheat b/c it keeps ur head/neck cool whereas a foam pillow does exactly the OPPOSITE. heat is a major major MAJOR issue for me.

thoughts?

can you snack on them as well?

EDIT: to solve the heat issue, use an aftermarket cooler (i suggest Zalman), or stop overclocking your pillows :|

something like this.

i'd like to avoid after-market cooling.

at stock speeds, u can get like... 2-3 more hours of sleep using passive cooling as opposed to other pillows

They're okay. They provide great support, but can get noisy as you shift around your head. I prefer my memory foam pillow.

I've had one for a few years. I really like it, but now I can't sleep good with just a normal pillow. Everyone else I know seems to dislike them though.

my stepmom has one. i used it a few times and i ahve to say, i did like it. Like you, i hate being hot at night and this really does help that. It is a very firm pillow, but it did help her sleep better

My sister and I have been talking about getting one of those. I remember seeing them on TV like 5 years ago. I have a memory foam one, and I love it, but I am costantly flipping it to get to the cool side. The heat is a big issue with me too.

My friend had one and said that she felt like she needed to buy an extra one to refill it as the husks wore down.
I hate warm pillows, too. I've been considering getting a chillow

I had one that my father-in-law gave me. It was comfortable, but it was noisy. The scrunching noise everytime I moved scared the crap out of me. I threw it away.

See, the problem is, if you want to dream, you're going to be more GPU dependant, in which case, you want the memory foam pillow.

I suggest lapping your face and attaching a peltier device.
