just got home and caught the final quarter, from the looks of it that was the only good part. I still can't believe how the stupid announce bill walton praises a team that was basically getting embarrased in the first half. I think if he could he would drop on his knees and play on allen iversons skin flute !!!
Am I the only person alive that thinks bill walton and who ever the other retard is announcing with him have without a doubt the worst commentary ever ?? they constantly reach on topics that have no point and are terribly shallow. I feel like they let some drunk out of the stands talk.

Actually, I wish it was the case. It is entertainment. He is trying to create a persona and obviously in the tightly controlled entertainment business he is being encouraged to make ridiculous comments. I suspect he is trying to be a bit "Maddenesque" but it doesn't work. He used to irratate the hell out of me when he did color for the KNICKS but now I just laugh it off. Heck, Monday Night Football even went as far as to hire Dennis Miller to "energize" the booth and boost ratings.

The sports programmers do not agree with you that TV should have unopinionated announcers. Its no different than talk radio.

76ers may have lost but they played AMAZING basketball in the 4th. especially iverson. i've never seen such display of talents. i have a new found respect for iverson tonight after seeing him do his magic in the 4th. at first i didn't care who won this series but now i pray the 76ers win. they have worked so hard. especially iverson. the bucks are just a buncha cocky fools. yes it's a bias remark 🙂

i'll tell you what leeland, you go out there with all the injuries Iverson's had and currently has and put on a show like he does. 30% for the series may not seem like much, but 30% all things considered is pretty damned impressive to me. It doesn't matter who wins this series anyway. The Lakers are gonna keep steamrolling. I can't see how either team will beat them. And speaking of cocky, I can think of many more players and coaches (Phil Jackson being at the top of this list) who are a hellava lot cockier than Iverson.
 
the whole nba is becoming a joke. look at the players... i just started watching some basketball this year after like an eight year hiatus and it's ridiculous. the refs are downright awful, the players are all whiny disrespectful babies, and someone like allen iverson (80 pounds of junk) can score 54 points in a game. i can't take it too seriously.
 
the bucks put on a shooting clinic, enough said. iverson is an awesome player and not doubt the MVP, but the bucks dug a hole too deep for him to crawl out of. iverson would have needed 60 or 65 points for them to have a chance in last night's game. the finals would be much more interesting with the bucks vs. the lakers in my opinion...they have better chance of keeping up. Ray Allen = underrated.

I'm torn between Walton and John Thompson as to who should be considered the absolute worst color person announcing basketball. Thompson can't get a sentence out before the next play is over and has a huge bias to players that played in the Big East. Walton hyperbolizes everything. Count how many times during a game he says "one of the top five". Iverson is one of the top five defensive players in the league. This is one of the top five games of all time. Karl is one of the top five coaches in the league. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Frankly, I took Steve Jone's advice in the second quarter when he said the game was over and turned it off. However, when I happened to turn it back on in the 4th and the lead had been reduced to 10, it was "one of the top five comebacks of all time".

i hated his commentary during the kings-lakers game...always ragged on the kings (i'm a lakers fan, but there was no need for dissin the other team)

don't talk smack on iverson unless you think you can play better than him. speaking of ray allen's 9 3 pointers, what about iverson's 8 3 poniters in a previous game? i rate a player not only on how good he plays, but also on his character. iverson had soooooo many injuries, yet he stays so committed to bringing the 76ers back from the dead. at the end of the 3rd quarter, he was pulled out because all hope seems lost. at least to larry brown. but then here comes iverson doing his magic. scoring 26 points in ONE frickin' quarter.

i give props to ray allen. he is a very good and underrated player but he's not what we're talking about.

btw, i don't think there's a bandwagon for the 76ers. a majority of people believe lakers will not be defeated. i can't jump on a wagon that's not there.

tomorrow's game will decide who goes to the finals. regardless if 76ers lose or win, they had an amazing season. of course even if they get to the finals, my lakers will still whoop their asses!!!!

p.s. cocky? i don't like cassell. bucks are a good team but i feel 76ers deserve the win. yes it's an opinion. don't attack my character like i just killed your mom.
 
Bill Walton may be a moron, but he was very critical of Iverson's play in the 1st 3 quarters. Once Iverson turned on the jets, Walton jumped on the wagon. That is why he sucks as a broadcaster. He will flame someone so bad until they start to play well and then he is their biggest fan.

Iverson is a piece of work. The dude is like 5-9 and busts his ass more than anyone on the floor. His shooting technique is non-textbook and the fact that he is shooting something close to 35% for the series doesn't matter. His intensity is unmatched. The guy wants to win more than ANYONE, and Philly will win the East, but no matter how bad AI wants to win, they have no chance against the Lakers.
