What's the difference between a Buccaneer and a Raider ? One has a parrot and one doesn't ? Don't they both drink rum ? Is there a difference ?

I am perplexed ?

They both are pirates. I take a Raider to be mean that they are raiding villages and plundering not specifically a pirate. A buccaneer I believe is most certainly what they called pirates.

Ask LordJezo...we looked up the definition for buccaneer back during winter break. There's a difference between buccaneers and raiders.

In 200 years, will there be professional sports teams called " Terrorists", "suicide bombers" etc?

Buccaneer = A "traditional" pirate. Goes after all ships regardless of their nationality

Raider = A buccaneer that is sponsored by some country. Doesn't act against ships of the sponsoring nation, but pays extra attention to the ships of the sponsors enemy

That is the difference if I remember correctly

Only one of the teams has a sweet-ass pirate ship in their stadium. The other one is Oakland.

The Autumn Wind is a Raider

The Autumn Wind

The Autumn Wind is a pirate
Blustering in from sea
With a rollicking song he sweeps along
swaggering boisterously
His face is weather beaten
He wears a hooded sash
With his silver hat about his head
And a bristly black moustache
He growls as he storms the country
A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold
The Autumn wind is a Raider
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.

a raider is a land-pirate, a buccaneer is a water/sea pirate

that almost makes sense

Soooooo....which one is a butt-pirate? :D

I was wondering how many replies there would be before someone made that lame joke.. ;)

LOL..I was too :D I figured I might as well go ahead and get it out of the way! ;)

They teach the young in Finland about proper pirate identification technique?

:D I am impressed. My education was lacking in this.
