We've got DDRII and PCI Express in the pipe and heading our way shortly, but when can we expect cases, power supplies, and motherboards to support the BTX form factor? The convergence of DDRII, PCI Express, BTX, SATA, newer AMD and Intel processors, and next generation GPUs from nVidia and ATi may mark an excellent time to upgrade for many of us in the future.

I think that ATX is serving us fine, just need new powersupplies with difft power conectors.

I bet Intel will push BTX end next year, but not many will take up thier offer.

Just because it's "serving us fine" doesn't mean there isn't something better out there. I know a lot of people are opposed to BTX, but if you look at it from a technical standpoint it is what ATX should have been.

To answer the question: BTX should start to appear in Q1 or Q2 2004. Since ATX does serve us well for the most part, it will be several years before it supplants ATX as the dominant form-factor. I read this in a magazine, Maximum PC I think, but don't have it in front of me to quote exactly.
