Driver overrun stack based buffer. Ran diag memory hard drive all passed.. 0x000000f7 0x1fcc0868 0xx1fcc0864 0xe033f79b 0x00000000. Tried recovery disks from HP DVD driver turns on but Windows loading files back to bsod. No safe mode.

What did you do with the HP disk? Full recovery or just drivers?

What happens when you try to go into safe mode?

Have you tried a Windows restore to before the problem started?

What are you doing when you see this message?

Got 2 recovery disk and driver disk. Put in recovery and reboot nothing. Tried pointing bios to cdrom reboot nothing... Can't windows restore ..

you may want to check out this Microsoft Link

If you have any data on the drive that's important you may want to pull the drive and slave it to a machine to get your data, if you don't have it already backed up. There is a potential you have a problem with the hard drive and this would also help you rule that out.

Also regularly available diagnostics programs are not efficient or reliable sources of reporting certain common problems with a hard drive, even from the manufacturer.

I tried both from default and from internal cdrom I hit f10 bios and now I get edit windows boot options for windows setup... Minint / redirect rdimage offset=8192 rdimagelength=3161088 rdpath=multi0 disk =0 cdtom=0 sources boot.wim. no clue what to do now

If I go and buy a new hard drive... Will it fix the problem ? I am also assuming I can use my windows 7 recovery disks from HP to reload it or do I have to buy another copy? I still have the product key written on the back of my comp if that will work... sorry just frustrated and I'm not that programming savy...

This will tell you if it's in fact the hard drive or not.

You should be able to. Your product key will still work as long as you reinstall factory version or the same version Win 7.

If you can boot from the Windows/ OS Recovery DVD, the problem could be just the hard drive. If the system won't even boot off the recovery media, you are either not telling it to boot from the DVD drive first, or you have more extensive problems.

Try unhooking any/all hard drives in the computer, and see if the computer will boot off the Windows/ OS Recovery DVD. If the hard drive is the only problem, you should get through the first couple steps of the process.

I removed the hard drive rebooted still bsod checked bios config and its showing internal CD/DVD Rom drive at top of list. Then goes back to bsod. Thinking motherboard issue?

Let's clear this up first. The infamous BSOD is a blue screen when Windows writes an application error to a dump file on the drive. If you have taken the hard drive out, then you shouldn't be getting a BSOD.

So in order to help, we need some more detail about what you are seeing/what it is doing. If it is failing to POST properly, disabling a setting such as Full Screen Logo Show from the BIOS menu may help you see what it is failing on.

hard rive removed rebooted and screen says boot device not found please install an opersting system on your hard disk.

hard disk (3F0)

F2 system diagnostics

I also changed out the hard drive and memory from an laptop not being used ant tried to boot from recovery disks. said windows is loading the files an then goes to bsod

I put my hard drive and memory back in. booted added in recovery cd shutdown powered up hit f9 set to boot from internal cdrom pressed enter... windows is loading files then bsod.

Well, it sounds like a hard drive failure, but the crash with other HD and RAM point to other issues, such as the motherboard. If you haven't already, try swapping SATA cables. And make sure all the fans are working (CPU, power supply, etc).

What are the specs or model of this computer?

HP PAVILION DV6 NOTEBOOK PC
358d
LW262UAH#ABA
AMD A8-3500RP APU WH RADEON HD GRAPHICS
1500 MHz
6144 MB RAM

fyi other than removing harddrive memory or video card not sure how to get to motherboard..thank you for taking time to help me

tried with each stick separately getting screen to launch system repair or star windows normally each option takes me to bsod. is leading to a motherboard issue? laptop is only 4 years old
