BSOD...neverending

Hello,

I've checked the topics too but I couldn't resolve this BSOD. My computer is full of my drawings, I don't want them to turn into trash. My computer doesn't start, when Windows logon screen appears the BSOD comes and just after it restarts the computer. The error message is BAD_POOL_CALLER ***STOP : 0x000000C2 (0x00000043, 0xC53A4000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) I tried to change the RAM slots, or starting with single RAM, then I unplugged all the USB cables connected a PS/2 keyboard but same message comes. I even tried the XP Recovery Console form the CD and made "chkdsk /r" it processed approx 1 hour, made some improvements (of course by message) but the machine is not starting. I want you to know that, this machine never crashed for about 1,5 years now. Before this happened I was working with the computer, but the electricity went out, so I left the office. And the other day, my computer didn't open. It is giving the BSOD for 3 three days now. Can you help me with it? I am deeply needing it. Thanks anyway...

p.s. I am using AMD Athlon 2400+, 2 GB RAM, 160GB HDD, PCI-EX Graphic Card with 512MB RAM and 2 DVI outputs. The OS is XP-PRO

Take a look at this website it may help. Has info about many of the windows errors and the 000000C2 error is on there.

you may also want to try this to see if you can get windows going again - insert the windows system disk and start up (you may have to press a key to get it to boot from cd). Windows will boot from the cd eventually give you reinstall options. There is an option on there to reinstall the windows files only. If you use this option it doesn't reformat the hard drive, it just reinstalls windows system files so all the material on your hard drive should still be there. Hopefully after this windows should boot up and give you access to the hard drive. if its a windows problem hopefully this will sort it out.

You could also try resetting the bios if the above doesnt work. I had an issue with power cuts last and it managed to mess up the bios config a little - no idea how or why. worth a try.

When you boot in safe mode, what happens?
When you try last known good, what happens?
Please give full answers to both of the above questions, telling exactly what you see, step by step.

@ bluxa

I'll check out that site. And reinstalling Windows will be solution to save my files but I will have to reinstall all my software and that'a kindda annoying so I'm leaving this option to the bottom lines. Tanks for the answer

@dclive

"Safe Mode" or "Last Known Good" doesn't make any change : It loads, but just when the logon screen comes the BSOD appears and gives computer a restart. This happens in any mode actually. I can only have some access when I boot from CD and operate from recovery console. I did the "Fixboot" "Fixmbr" and "Chkdsk" commands, they were successful but didn't make any change.

I'll add a few things I've done after BSOD
- Removed the Graphics card from its slot, cleaned both, no difference.
- Removed RAMs from their slot, cleaned all, no difference.
- Plugged other RAMs which surely working in another computer, no difference.
- Plugged my RAMs to other computers, they worked.
- Cleaned the whole case, no sign of dust or cable misconnection.
- CPU heat is nominal.
- No O/C .

I removed my SATA HDD, mounted a brand new IDE HDD. Tried to install XP on this new HDD, but BSOD appeared again. I checked my RAM as I said. I checked my Graphics Card, working. By this installation I checked my HDD, surely it is not the problem. I'm suspecting from the main board, I haven't got any SATA main board so I couldn't replace the mainboard. Firmware upgrade can handle this? Or has my mainboard just gone...

If it happens while you're installing Windows, obviously you have a hardware problem. I'd suggest having your vendor replace the computer and going from there.

I'll go and check all the parts tomorrow. I bought this computer piece by piece so if there is a vendor, that is me 🙂 I strongly think that, the problem is mainboard.
