BSOD - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I got this when I first built my PC, I solved it by moving one of my RAM sticks (I have 2x512 Corsair Value) over so that there was an empty DIMM between them - they were getting a little too toasty right next to each other.

Oh, the infamous IRQL BSOD. I used to get this alot. But they happen during 'seasons'. I but get maybe one or two a day for few days, and then not get it again for an entire year, then get it again. That being said, you can't really do anything about this problem, as I don't think Windows XP allows you to manually change the IRQs, so I guess you just gotta tough it out ;(

This has nothing to do with hardware IRQs and, usually, quite a bit to do with software drivers. That's why I'm suggesting Safe Mode to see if the issue goes away. I'd also like to see what swapping the RAM does for him, too.

:thumbsup:Sorry for not responding. Business trips eating my time.

I am cautiously optimistic that I may have solved the problem...

I moved my ram stick from slot 1 to slot 2. I am easily on the longest BSOD free streak yet. I even re-installed XP2 (which caused thrice daily BSOD's) and am BSOD free.

Any ideas on why moving my ram helped? Reseating perhaps?
