Ok i was having computer problems so i did a complete reformat with deleting the partition etc. The problem before was that it would randomly blue screen which it does now still.

the error on the bsod is page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

1. Drivers are all current. bios is a bit out of date but its messed up at site(chaintech)
2. For some reason it says the USB controller doesnt have drivers and when it searches it freezes/bsod
3. When i try windows update it freezes.

winxp home
1gb mushkin ram
6600GT

Have you run chkdsk? If not, do so before continuing with the troubleshooting. A bitmap error (disk error) is the simplest cause of that particular BSOD
