You cant burn a cd with a pin! :p No, seriously, even if you had the amazing coordinatino and ability to "scratch" the surface, a pin could not physically burn the cd. When cds are burned, a laser is "shined" through the transparent disk surface to the surface behind, and the material in the back is melted and it turns opaque, which changes its reflective properties when the read laser goes over it. I know this is a bit of an oversimplified explanation, and I can not do the process justice, but if you look the subject up, it is quite interesting.:D
