BSOD during installation of WIN2K AND WIN98

When i try to install Win2k, i get a BSOD. Same goes for Win98. The BSOD says different error msgs every time. Its weird. I get the BSOD on the WIN2k installation right before the copying of files. I really need help.

It could be a problem with your oc-ed comp. Put it back to the original speed and try again.

Try formatting, taking out all of your PCI cards (but leaving the video card), and reinstalling windows. It is always better to add PCI cards once Windows is up and running. Also, try booting with a windows boot disk and see if the system appears stable at the DOS prompt. If it isn't you probably have either a bad CPU, motherboard, or memory. If it seems fine, it's more likely that you hard drive may be causing the problem, since the blue screen happens right before copying the windows files.

This sounds like a problem with the RAM.

Try going into CMOS and change the POST settings to give you a full check of memory instead of a quick check. Using a boot disk, reboot the system 5 or 6 times, only letting it get as far as completing the memory test and then power off and boot again. Make sure you give it a few seconds after you power down to allow all motors to spin down completely and be a rest (fans, HDD, this type of motor).

This will many times show up an error in memory that isn't caught by the quick test.

i'm using an Epox 8K7A non OC-ed.

I think it is a RAM problem. Random BSODs messages are often a memory issue. Do as Chubbs said "taking out all of your PCI cards (but leaving the video card), and reinstalling windows" and make sure you are installing windows using only one stick of memory (you have two sticks I hope, if not get another). If it dies with that stick, try the other.
