System Specs:

HD 80GB|WD 7200RPM 8MB WD800JB%
CPU AMD 64 |3000+ ATHLON 64 RTL

MNTR ADVUEU|17" LCD 723A RT
CASE DYNAPWR|SPIDEN-V 8614 BK 430W
Geforce4 MX420

Everything seems to detect properly when the system boots up. However, when I try to install WinXP Pro I keep getting a STOP BSOD message. One of the few Stop Messages was 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I've got the hard disk on IDE0 as the master and the dvdrom drive is on IDE1 as master each on their own IDE cable. According to the bios it detects everything fine.... I don't understand it.

I tried memtest and got no errors. Tried another video card from my main system and still no luck either.

Just for the hell of it I tried installing Mandrake 10 and that worked fine with no errors. So what the heck is winxp's problem? Why can't I get past this BSOD to install the OS?

Your computer is obviously complaining about that MX420 you're trying to make it run. You'd be better off with a gerbil-wheel with a D-Sub coming out of it. (Or however that quote goes.)

You've done memtest ... Make sure your install media is clean?
Edit - Try swapping IDE cables too.

I tried using my radeon 9800 pro from my main pc.... still doesn't work. Install media is clean and I've also already tried using different IDE cables with no luck.

voltages seem okay and so do the temps. I've disabled everything possible including parallel ports, serial ports, usb, and FDC. Still no luck.

Run a thorough scandisk on the drive. I had a similar problem before and it's because the drive had some errors on it. You can either make a Win98 bootdisk or put the harddrive in another computer.
