BSOD at startup

So when I startup my tablet laptop (core 2 duo, 2 gigs of ram, xp), I get the windows startup screen (the one with the bar going left to right across the screen), I get a BSOD and then it startsup again but loads correctly.

Nothing seems wrong, but I want to get rid of that BSOD at startup.

So you get a BSOD and then it works fine on the reboot? Do you select Start Windows Normally after the BSOD or one of the other options?

What code is the BSOD showing?

Try scanning the HDD for errors. If none then run memtest to check the RAM. If neither of those shows any problems the i can't think of anything else right now. If the HDD shows errors go ahead and test the RAM too. Bad RAM can cause HDD corruption before you start getting errors from the RAM.

Has the system lost power in the middle of use?
