BSOD and P965/E6600

IRQL blue screens...I have changed out everything and still get the errors...but they change...with a new video card, I can now load XP without the IRQL error, but when loading the sound driver, whoop there it is!...

People seem to think that it has to do with memory...the memory has run MemTest386 on the board for days without errors...it certainly looks like some kind of IRQ problem...

Now...reading around the Internet shows that people with the combination of the Intel P965 chip set and the E6600 processor have the large portion of the problems with this...

Do we have to disable our APCI and manually set the IRQs?...

I'll let you know...

and any info on this would be wonderful!

What motherboard and memory are you using?

Went through 2 P5Bs and am now on a P5B Deluxe...2 gig of Corsair XM and 2 gig of Crucial Ballistiks...all giving the IRQL BS...changed PS to a new 650...went from a EVGA 6800GT (which would BS when loading XP every time) to a Sapphire X1900...XP now loads, but the minute I try to load the sound drivers, it BSs...

I'm to the point of setting the IRQs manually again...this is really wrong!!!

I have a P5B-Deluxe and E6600 - no BSODs here - at least not yet 🙂. I'm also using Corsair XMS2 6400C4 memory, which is on the QVL for that motherboard. Are you using both the Corsair and Crucial memory at the same time?

No...both of my memory sets are also on the QVL...so I wonder what is different about your?...I'll check you rig setup...

You are not using the P965 chipset...that's the difference...the problem is with the P965 chipset...

My Rig setup isn't updated. I started out with the 680i motherboard, but then it died. It's been replaced with the Asus P5B-Deluxe board.
