How long do you think it will be before they have games where you can customize your character to look like YOU?

I predict eventually they will have games where you can super impose your own picture over your character's face and really get imersed...

How long do you think this will take?

They were talking about doing that way back when Quake 3 came out.

I would probably make my character look like my neighbor, just in case I pissed somebody off and they came looking for me.

With the "eye toy" (a webcam-thing for PS2), some games (I think sports?) supported that exact feature.

Can't you make your character look like yourself in the newer Tony Hawk?
You can take a pic of yourself and upload it to the game.

you could do this for nba live for PC a while back. just scanning a pic and matching the points of the face.
the xbox 360 has an optional camera attachment and they were thinking of allowing users to use their own face for "Perfect Dark Zero" multiplayer...the developer said that he didnt want to be playing and run into some guy with "testicles on top of his head".

You can already do this on a lot of EA sports games. I know NHL 2001 did and Im assumign theyve kept/improved that feature in he newer games.

I think that my real face isn't very intimidating. And so I think what we'd get is enhanced versions of people's faces. But everyone would say "no, that's really the way I look. Damn it!"

i think the first game i played where you could import your own face would have been NHL '99 on the PC...

i spent about 30 minutes customizing my player's face for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 though... :)

and then another 30 or so customizing my wife's face, although she doesn't even play the game. apparently it was great fun for her, especially when we got to choose her "outfit". :roll: :)
