Bruce Willis with hair

Moonlighting was a TV show back in the days when Bruce Willis still had a full head of hair. It was before my time, but I've seen displays in museums about it.
 
I remember watching the show with my parents when I was a kid back in the 80's. I can still remember the lyrics to the song.

Pretty strange that I can remember how the song goes, but I can't remember some of things I did last week even...

Long-term memory FTW!

I took intro psychology in college, supposedely information that gets loaded into long term memory is there forever. So the stuff you did last week was only in short term and 'evaporated.'

And the brain stores/processes musical information differently, which is why it is easier to remember song lyrics than say, recite some random poem. 50 Nifty United States, anyone?

What I remember about the show was that this was the decade terms like "yuppie" were invented. And this of course was the theme of the show - if you got, flaunt it.

It was 1986, I remember it well, everything was designer made. And the main brand was BMW. They would tool around in a 7 series, occasionally ride a BMW motorcycle and in one episode with ... you guessed it... a horse with a saddle made by BMW.

Everyone enjoyed caviar, sipped on a glass of wine and listened to the extended version of the Pet Shop Boys' West in Girls at the local night club.
