Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris

Norris met the soon to be famous, Bruce Lee, who would ingrain Norris in martial arts history forever with his portrayal as Lee's nemesis in The Way of the Dragon. But while the two were publicly friendly, contrary to what many (including Norris himself) state, they were not close friends. Lee had repeatedly humiliated Norris during a mock sparring session in the hotel hallway at the Long Beach International Karate Championships in 1964. And Norris had offended Lee when he publicly claimed to be a better fighter than Lee. When word got back to Lee, he called Norris and openly challenged him, threatening to drive to his school to fight (Norris was teaching his black belt class at that time). According to eye witnesses, Lee made Norris hold the phone receiver up and shout in front of his black belts, "Bruce Lee is a better fighter than me!" Later, Norris wrote an apologetic letter to Lee; the original letter is currently in the care of Lee's student, Dan Insanato. Yet despite these conflicts, the two managed to set aside any differences in pursuit of their mutual film aspirations and develop a friendly public persona toward one another.

i never knew chuck norris was that great at martial arts. the moves he pulls on texas ranger are crap
He wasn't that good, he was only the 6-time world professional middleweight karate champion.
Nothing special. I'm sure he wasn't really all that good.

I thought it was 7-time world professional middleweight karate champion. 🙂

still amazed some people can't figure out how to add a POLL when their post asks a specific question with specific answers...

Nope, 6-time. He was undefeated.
He won numerous other titles, too, amateur and what-not.

Still waiting for Chuck Norris' skills to come alive...

Go pick a fight with him. 😉
It doesn't take skills to kick my @ss, so that proves didly.

Wait. I didn't mean it that way. Really. 😱😛

norris would likely own lee. he was a real athlete who competed unlike lee.

A "Real athlete"? As opposed to an equal who has trained just as hard his entire life?

That is the fvcking dumbest thing I have read in the last 25 minutes.

Go back to Blockbuster & rent another Segal movie.

chuck norris is 5 time international heavyweight karate champion. what competitions has lee won again? a boxing match in high school is the only thing he's won. bruce had a little over a year of actual training. did you know that? of course not.

chuck norris at one point was 250 pound of muscle, obviously much stronger than lee ever was and he had a longer reach.

sorry but norris would own lee.

FYI that wiki article is bs.

I think I'd have to go with Chuck Norris. Now, I'm not going to say Lee doesn't deserve his legendary status. But, I think his skill was probably exaggerated a lot over the years. Norris was an undefeated karate champion, that is instant crediblity. Lee has no credibility other than his legend. However, if the legends of Lee are 100% correct. I'd go with Lee over Norris.

Lee would destroy Norris. It's be over so quickly that it wouldn't even be funny, except that it would be.

Bruce Lee was an actor #1. People get to wrapped up in his mystical presense to realize the guy only weighed like 130 pounds and looked good on camera. In real life there are plenty of people who could beat Lee in a fight. I don't know if old scraggle face is one of them though.

Yup and I'm sure that many people could do 2 finger pushup and break a dangling board among other things.
