So there is a midnight showing of the Evil Dead at a local theater...I really wanted to go, but my gf was sick, so I decided I would go to the video store and rent it to watch with her at home. So I go in and Bruce Campbell (star of Evil Dead) is in there signing autographs!!
I went up and asked for an autograph, but since he was promoting his audiobook, you were required to buy a copy for 27 fvcking dollars to get an autograph!!! WTF!? Bruce handed me a copy of the audio book so I could see if I wanted to buy it...which I did NOT want to. It was a bit awkward at that point...so I waited until he looked away, then quietly set it down and walked away.
The real kicker of the whole story is that I couldn't even rent the movie I had come for because they had blocked of the shelf it was on in preparation for the line of people waiting for autographs!! The star of the movie I wanted was undermining my plan to rent it!! Argh indeed...
