From what I understand, Adu qualified but Arena had a "wait and see" attitude in Adu's last matches MLS play regarding Adu's defensive capabilities. Ultimately, Arena thought other players were more complete experience-wise. Total BS.

Seeing USA's lackadaisical play, the team really would have benefitted from Adu's Pele-esque aggressive play, b/c it sure wasn't coming from any other player.

Thank God Adu didn't diss the US by going to play for Ghana. Props to his loyalty. If Arena had any strategic insight he \should have let Adu on the team just to keep his American loyalties in place.

Losing Adu would really, really hurt the future of American soccer.

yah. he would have gotten the crap beat out of him. he is to small to be going up agianst the best in the world he needs a few more years on him and some size before he is ready for the world cup/

lol....i was actually in the room and that's exactly what he had to say. Plus he said, "hey, if we don't win, we'll just blame it on the refs or something, no big deal".

I'm still under the idea that shots on goal are good. Like in hockey they always say, "just put the puck on goal and good things can happen". Besides, you can't score if you don't shoot, why not shoot it and make the goalie work, you might get a lucky bounce, a decent rebound shot, something!!

I predict that Arena will be gone.
