brown recluse spider

Most of these pics are the extreme cases where there are extenuating circumstances. Nine times out of ten, a brown recluse bite won't come across as anything worse than a mosquito bite that takes a little longer to heal in a healthy person. Stop picking on the brown recluse and go kill some snakes (they're all evil poisonous creatures that shouldn't be allowed to share this earth with us).

OMG!!! There is another voice of reason here?

My brother!!!

Anyhow, he is correct. The vast majority of brown recluse bites cause very few problems.

Those aren't all brown recluse bites

yeah I saw some postings from Maryland, I was like, I thought they weren't in MD, got
all paranoid for a moment.

according to one of the victims:

"a recluse can live a year without food and water, and 10 years in a normal lifespan. Hence they can travel in your suitcase, boxes, through shipping methods and are hardy enough to withstand no nourishment; they actually are hardier than "cancer cells."

i have no idea if that is true however

I love spiders, but everytime I see the BRS it gives me chills.

I had hundreds of those bastards in a townhome a few years back. I somehow managed to escape with no bites even though we found them IN my bed, under my bed, in all my closets, in the shower, in the cupboards, etc. etc.

*shudder*

I once saw a rattle snake lift a ford f150, fill it with poison and thow it a bus full of toddlers, puppys and grandmothers. Why are we talking about spiders when we should be killing snakes?

got bitten by one at summer camp one year...thought it was a pesky mosquito bite till the skin started turning white & scaly...just got some antibiotics and it was gone in a few days, no big deal. they aren't terribly dangerous as long as you pay attention and get treatment for them if they don't heal in a reasonable amount of time

Yeah. They had an article on brown recluse spider bite in The New England Journal of Medicine a few years back. It's totally disgusting.

FVCK that.

The actual distribution of brown recluses is controversial. Many scientists deny that recluses live in florida, but some don't. My ex-gf got an inspection before a fumigation, and they found several brown recluses. My sister had a recluse bite while gowing up, and she had a gaping hole in her leg. We've seen them in my old house.

Count yourself lucky that it wasn't one of satan's belly crawling minions that bit you. You would have bloated to three times your normal size, and if you didn't get help in time, you could have turned into a blood thirsty slave of the devil.

True story: I once saw a guy who got bitten by a snake swell up to the size of a toyota camry and then devour a water buffalo before ripping the heads off all his GI Joes.

Where is that thread about the guy with the ingrown hair on his butt? I would rather have a million spider bites than one infected a$$hair.

Let me tell you something, and this is 100% the truth.

Ever have a night terror? I forget if that's what it's called, but it's basically where you wake up and you're still in your damn nightmare.

Well, I woke up because I felt like I had spiders in my bed. Not that far-fetched considering I DID have spiders in my bed. I ripped off the covers in a nervous fit and found two of those bastards at the foot of my bed UNDER my covers.

One was dead. I can only assume that I somehow killed it. Not bad considering I was asleep.

Death to the BRS.

OMG LOL wtf?!

A friend of mine was bitten by a hobo spider a couple of years ago. He did not have the necrotic damage in those pictures, but he got sick, and stayed sick.
6 months after the bite, he'd be doing work, and all of a sudden get chills and become nauseous. The docs attributed his symptoms to that bite. Unfortuneately, he had an extensive bite on his arm, like the spider had chewed on him a while.

lmao, thanks for the words of wisdom, i will steer clear of any snakes just cuz of you!

Hmm... I killed a few brown recluse's outside today that were hiding in a bucket.

Hopefully I'll never get bitten.

I killed a brown recluse 2 feet from my one-year old daighter... I was filled with great vengeance and furious anger.

When I was a boy, I was 'a-setting' on a woodpile with my uncles and cousins. My uncle says, "Son,.... don't move boy" picks up a stick about six inches long and crushes the neck of the copperhead that had just crawled out under my feet....

Dayam.
