I paid $350 freaking dollars for it last freaking year. Its a 30gb 3rd gen. I dunno wtf they did (they both wont admit to it, they blame each other), but the MENU BUTTON doesnt work. Like when I put my thumb on it the iPod lights up but DOES NOT go to the MENU. WTF, any help?

Make them go on message boards and harass people for referrals to get the ipod, that should be good punishment :)

I hate to sound selfish, but this kinda thing seems to happen everytime you loan a gadget/car/bike/books/etc. to someone... it doesn't come back in the same condition. :| I take good care of my $#!T and I may *appear* selfish when I say no to people who want to borrow things...

You know, iPods have a strange tendancy to have the menu button stop working. It might not have been them..

The menu button on my 2G iPod has never worked since I bought it from someone..

You pretty much took the risk when you loaned it to them. Why did you do that? Helluva lot of money for a toy to play tunes IMO. You must have a lot of disposable income, so I'm surprised its such a big deal to you.

iPod buttons are susceptible to breakage. Must be some kind of inherent defect with the scroll wheel.
