The HL 1440 is a great printer. Mine has been going strong for almost 2 years now. I can't imagine how many papers and articles I have printed on it. Most people like to throw some extra ram in it, but I find no need.

Checking the Staples website, they're selling it for $179.98 - $30 instant savings (using coupon code #28534 on webpage) - $25 MIR = $124.98

Throw in a $30 off $150 coupon and get it for $95.

any recommendations on a print server for this thing.....there is a brother one but its like $150 or should i consider something else for networking possiblities

I just setup a Brother 1240 printer on a wireless linksys print server ( WPS54GU2 - $122 at newegg) and it worked fine with the parallel port interface but I couldn't get it to use the USB one... I think it's because Brother asks for a special USB driver for using USB on this printer and that's not going to work with the Linksys.

Sweet. I'll pick one up for my Dad.

I LOVE my Brother HL 1440. It does not care for the bottom rung paper tho. Has a hard time picking up a sheet to feed it. So don't totally cheap out on the paper.

I don't think they carry the printer in the store. Normally, they just carry lots of H/P equipment.

Costco doesn't PM to anybody and nobody PM's Costco stuff. The sad truth, so don't get your hopes up.
