I hope the defendants have an adequate defense with competent attorneys. Any executions should not be delayed any more than required.

Fuck that, draw and quarter them.

Fucking these 4 should be torn limb from limb.

The bride wore her favorite white Converse sneakers, and she was still in the process of writing thank-you cards when she was killed.

So does that mean she was writing cards when they did this? If so break every bone in their body, and then throw them in solitary confinement if you don't want to draw and quarter them.

I don't know how anyone tolerates you.

Prediction: You will become more and more like dmcowen until you two merge as one.

Sad that he is allowed to walk around these boards with a mod tag. He is a disgrace to the forum

I read that they got recently married, maybe she was writing thank you cards for those who attended.

The military hasn't actually executed anyone since 1961. There are nine men on military death row, but they never seem to get around to the executions.

I've been saying for a while that they're the same person.

I understand what he's saying though. It's easy to say "well let's torture them!" without a fair trial. It seems that we've been screaming about Gitmo, and Padilla a while back (and with good cause IMO), but you cannot have two standards of justice. One for those you have sympathy, and another for those you do not. Assuming guilt, a punishment fitting the crime is not out of order. Until then they are suspects despite the evidence, and no I have no sympathy for the guilty.

Why should they be any different than the hundreds of others that have been put to death by this country who were only given public defenders?

You're just pathetic.

I don't really condone jpeyton's comment, but more because I think it's crass than because it insults Marines. Pretty much all members of the other branches of service I've ever met have great respect for Marines but are wary of them. The Marine Corps does tend to attract a certain kind of personality - frequently people who sincerely want to be in the thick of combat - then trains them to be even more ruthless. The result is a highly effective killing machine, but also a person who isn't necessarily a barrel of monkeys to be around. I guess the upshot is that I am disappointed but not entirely surprised that a crime like this occurred (assuming, for purposes of the discussion, that the accused are in fact guilty).

Charged with murder and other crimes are Pvt. Emrys John, 18, of Maryland; Lance Cpl. Tyrone Miller, 20, of North Carolina; Pvt. Kevin Darnell Cox, 20, of Tennessee, and Pvt. Kesuan Sykes, 21, of California.

I have a creeping suspicion this was racially motivated.

Or they just hated their commander. Could be either; psychos don't make much sense.

Why kill the wife then?

yeah article doesnt give nearly enough info to make a judgment.

Ok, you are officially stupid. Not that we didn't know before hand, but now it's official.

how so?

im not in a position to say who is responsible for the deaths of the soldier and his wife. there are suspects, obviously, but not enough info to make a judgment.

get it?

i know most of u r emotionally driven but this is simple logic.

Nope, that is not logic at all. Try again, maybe go get a cookie and a class of warm milk to clear your head.

OP, please add this link to your OP. Shows the mug shots of the 4 guys that did it.

All 4 are black. I wonder if it really WAS racially motivated.

It wouldn't surprise me. There are plenty of idiots out there who don't like seeing interracial relationships.

You know, only the New York Daily news mentions torture - the other sources mention rape, but nothing else. I think the NY Daily news is sensationalizing it.

Regardless, a terrible crime. Reminds us that electing a black president isn't going to magically solve race problems in the country.

Because the military doesn't really do executions anymore :(

Pietrzak's mother said she can't understand how Marines could have committed such a crime.

"Don't the Marines screen out people like this?" she said. "Didn't they know they had murderers under their roof?"

Good question.

How do you screen killers out of system that is looking to hire killers?
