Is there any difference between the US version called Circle of Blood compared to the UK version simply called Broken Sword 1?

I think they're the same, just renamed (the UK version actually has the subtitle Shadow of the Templars).

I played this game for the first time just last month. It's not quite as good as some other adventure games I've seen, but still pretty nice. I like how you can ask everyone you meet to shake your hand. :D

I found the UK version of Broken Sword 1 and 2 on Amazon for $10. I may have to get it eventually.

Yeah, they're certainly worth a playthrough for that much. I'm not sure if they work natively on modern computers (BS1 probably won't), but you can use ScummVM to play them.

The Broken Sword series was not done by LucasArts and so it won't work on ScummVM. You're probably thinking about DosBox. I've been meaning to pick these up myself. The first one wasn't bad.

No, the first two games do in fact work on ScummVM even though they don't use the SCUMM engine. I played through them using that. The only thing is that it doesn't support the original movies, but they have converted ones available on the ScummVM site that work with it.

I bought a white label version of Broken Sword 1 and 2 on DVD. The DVD contains SCUMMVM and installs the games along with it.
