Question Broken mobo - replace or rebuild?

Hi, my 2014 PC built for 1440p gaming just broke down (repeated crashes, then failed to start up at all, case fans still running). Repair shop thinks the mobo is toast and suggests I rebuild completely (i.e. new mobo, CPU, RAM) because "the mobo is out of production".

This is the old build:

• Case: Fractal Define R4
• Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty H87 Performance
• CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3
• GPU: Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC II
• RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 2x8GB
• PSU: Super Flower Golden Green HX 80Plus Gold 550W

Is it worth trying to find an old spare for the mobo or should I follow the shop advice and rebuild? I could not find an Asrock H87 from any EU retailers. Are there any contemporary mobos that would be compatible with the current build?

I don't think you can buy a new motherboard now for a Haswell cpu. You could try ebay but they tend to go for too much money.

Seems like a good time to build a new pc now with the release of the Ryzen 3000.

• RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 2x8GB G.Skill Aegis 2x16GB (€160)
• PSU: Super Flower Golden Green HX 80Plus Gold 550W

Yeah looks good. Only thing I'm not sure about is 550W PSU seems a little under powered, but I'm not an expert maybe it will be enough. The graphics card is what 225W and AMD recommend a 600W PSU.
The cpu is 95W so I don't know may be cutting it close. I think you should replace the PSU get a 750W or 850W one.

Edit: Though, no better time like the present to upgrade to a 3600X and 5700XT rig.

Edit #2: I would say, it might be your PSU or video card, it might not strictly be the mobo. But again, time to upgrade.
