broken fan controller

I have a xigmatek utgard case that had a built in fan controller, well technically 2 seperate controllers. The top one decided to crap out but the other seems to work as it should. For a while I didnt mind because the fans were just at max load constantly, it was loud but It wasnt that big of a deal. But recently My fans hooked up to this specific controller are now eratic. they speed up and slow down at will and its starting to bug me. Is there any specific cheap controller that you guys would recommend? Also In the mean time should I just plug the fans into the MOBO header until I get it all figured out? thanks for any advice

Fan speed controllers are quite cheap even for good ones. Look out for Lamptron controllers, they're among the best. I personally have a FC5v2 with the temperature and RPM display but there are cheaper models that only comes with the speed knob/slider.

I've always had good luck w/ Zalman fan mates.

Mobo headers should work, if nothing else they'll run and keep things cool. You may have BIOS options to control them as well. If you do - heck, you're done.
