Broken Canon SD500

Hi all,

I came back from a trip from Punta Cana, DR with the family and the broken camera from the wife dropping it. The lens does not retract and I get "E18" message before shutdown.

Dilemma: wonder if its worth fixing since Canon charges $119 + $8 shipping minimum for the smallest repairs.

Sell it on eBay and make about $100, then get a new one. Someone out there will be able to fix it or will captilize off your loss.

with a hot deal, you could get a brand and better camera for probably ~100-150 on top of that canon price.

plus, you were gonna upgrade soon anyhow
