Brokeback Mountain banned in China

gee, I'm not suprised. but hey, it happened in Utah too.

I guess they only want the word "comrades" to have just one definition.

"Comrades" is the word they use in Chinese to describe homosexuals.

I realized that the Chinese/Soviet communists had some semblance of animosity but to equate Comrade to Homosexual is just genius 😛

actually, no. they use the term to describe people in general in mainland china.

in hong kong, your definition is correct.

I don't get it. Whether it's Utah or China or wherever, why the heck do people feel such a need to decide for others what they should watch or not watch? Personally, I find the homosexual theme of the move (not to mention the gay love scenes) revolting -- so I choose not to go see it. I don't feel the need to foist my opinion on others -- if someone else wants to see it, let them go see it! Geez......

Liberals, conservatives, they all want to decide what you should or should not be able to watch, the only distinction is in what kind of material they would like to protect you from. How about let the people make up their own mind and decide what to watch/listen to etc??
