put the heat sink on the board, but it wouldn't fit in
the case that Frys sold me with it (yeah, I know, Frys),
the little plastic piece where the heat sink goes broke...

can I glue the heat sink on the cpu? what kind of glue?
need this solved asap, was supposed to ship this baby today.

gracias

don't glue it..it really wont hold...

Your best bet is to get a heat sink that uses all 6 tabs (3 per side) like an orb or a taisol.

super-glue isn't going to cut it ;oP

lol, thought I have some stuff here they use in body shops instead of welding (it's said that it's stronger than welding)

but this isnt something you can waltz into your local hardware store and buy ;oP

where were you supposed to ship it? if you sold it to someone, you should definately inform them prior to them becoming extremely pissed.

how about gluing the little piece back on? its really small though,
not sure what to glue, fits on the end of my pinkee

like i said, glue just isnt going to work...it's the part where the heatsink clips on to, right?

glue really won't work well b/c there isnt that much surface area there for the amount of pressure thats going to be on it.

ESPECIALLY if you are going to be shipping this somewhere.

like i said, did you sell this to someone?

if so, you'd better cut your losses and make it right, otherwise, someone's going to be pissed.

you can always ship the board with a heatsink that has the wide clip that fits over all 3 plastic tabs instead of just the center one

ok, that was the only one that Frys had, will try and find another one...
yes, someone will be really pissed that I broke this-
my Mom, she needs a computer bad, I bought the $100 celeron and mb + case
at Frys last week.
