Start feeding it to them when they're toddlers.

My 6 and 3 year old love broccoli, asparagus, artichiokes, and raw spinach....

Tell them, eat the broccoli or you'll get out the brussel sprouts. Although use it with care, as the children's aid society might look down on it.

well the following is a question i have to come up with an answer for :

"Pretend that you work for an advertising agency and have been given a challenge. Come up with ways to boost consumption of broccoli at middle school lunches. List your suggestions, including a slogan that would apppeal to middleschool students."

Any more opinions?

btw -
offer watered down soy sauce to dip it in... they'll probably like it better that way... and buy REAL soy sauce not that sweetened flavored crap.

OK heres what i thought :

Instead of hiding/masking brocolli & tricking kids into eating it, chefs should turn it into a "cool" fashion food! One way of doing this would be to establish brocolli bars called "Broc Bars" where Brocolli would be the primary ingredient & kids would have te luxury of more than a dozen toppings (eg., sugar or soy sauce or cheese or soy sauce or steak, etc) and the slogan would be "Broc Rocks!"

What do u guys think? Would this make it more palatable to 6-8th graders?

What's so bad about broccoli? It tastes just fine. I like cooking it in a pot of water seasoned with salt and sesame oil. I only leave it in the boiling water for a short time. Just enough time for it to turn bright green cuz I like it nice and crunchy.

or raw. i never ate it until i was an adult & mrs. spamela
served it (same with cauliflower, artichokes, etc.).
i  it all, now.

i don't like plain broccoli, but my mom made a really good salad and i eat it sometimes. however, broccoli should be marinated to take upon the taste imo.

Broccoli is one of my favorite foods, but I'll comment anyway. Besides liking it plain and with a cheddar cheese sauce, I also use broccoli and other vegetables in recipies where one would usually use pasta or use it in addition to pasta. You could use broccoli, cauliflower, etc., in lasagna or combine it with ravioli in a red sauce with some parmesan.
