Is there a kit or small transmitter that would allow me to broadcast FM radio from the house?
Hook it into my pc and play my mp3's locally, I think there used to be a 5 watt limit or something like that many years ago.
It should be good enough to listen to for a few blocks.

A friend of mine used to do that. He had a small transmitter that unfortunately only covered the downtown area. That was okay, though 'cause we lived downtown at the time, and it was great music. :)

ok, it appears the FCC limit is 250uV @ 3yards from the antenna. antenna has a max height of 10ft. this is close to 100mW. I'll try to find a link from the horse's mouth though.

<edit> The FCC's site is a biotch to navigate.. :( </edit>

www.fcc.gov if intrested.
