I use to love http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ because they supplied fast consistent speed test results and I normally always got 2mbit/second. Lately I've been getting more like half a megabit/s and I'm looking for some other testing pages that don't have a 3 test limit per month.

Anyone know of a good, stable, reliable test?

SBC Yahoo DSL speed test here

Best I ever used. Very accurate and consistent, upload test, and has enough range to accurately test my T3 at work. Only drawback is that it can take a wile sometimes so just wait.

Thanks!

the sbc seems to be almost as good as the bandwidth place test. It says I get 2.xmbit where others were in KB

true, but they do give you a good indicator if there is something wrong....but you have to know how to read the indicator. 1 bad test isn't everything.

The reason that the Online Test are not very accurate is inherit in the way the whole system work, it is not an issue of whether one Test Site is ?Good? and Other ?Bad?.

It has to do with: Internet Hiccups, and Routing, your own computer?s caches status and script capacities, as well as other variables.

It is completely if a site is good...which means it can handle the load it needs to, has a quick routes with fewer overall hiccups. I know there's a lot other things involved, but as long as you don't use just one test every once in a blue moon, you should be able to get a good feel for what your speed is.

What's the point of testing if you are only interested in getting the highest reading you can get? Are you trying to justify something to yourself?
