Broadband or dialup

Dialup here, T1 at school which is less than 1/8mile away, but no broadband is available here and I cannot hook up to the schools t1.. :-/

Cable... can't imagine going back to dialup. I'm home shopping now and have made broadband access a requirement for the area that I move to (pretty sad eh?).

ISDN here...I live in the woods!
Charter Pipeline Cable is coming next month...faster and cheaper. I'll be going that way.

cable for 3 years. I'd never move to a new place that didn't have cable access. Is that sad when you choose a residence by the internet connection? 🙂

No, it's not sad... It's just a priority for us anandtechers... I'm on dialup right now, but the next place i move to will have to have broadband. I've been waiting for cable or DSL at my residence for almost 2 years now. And when I contacted them before I moved in, they told me it would be 2 months before they got to my area. Maybe they meant 2 years. At my old place, I had 10mbit cable access and I would frequently DL at 400KB/sec from the big sites with alot of bandwidth. Then it came to a screeching halt when I came back to dialup... I honestly thought something was wrong with my connection when I was DLing at 5KB/sec. I was like... hmmm... I thought it was faster than this before.

Cable at my apartment
Dial-up at home

They're installing Wireless Internet back home right now, so hopefully it will be a little better than dialup. I heard it sucks for gaming though 🙁

Cable for almost a year, but I just moved and will be back to dial up for a few weeks. It is such a change. can't wait to get my road runner back.

I have dialup currently but I already have called Sprint and am having wireless put in... 512kbps to 1.5mbps average speed 5mbps max. And it has pings in the DSL/cable range.
