$36.7 million is a ton of money. I'm pretty sure that people would know the UK world over without spending $36.7 million on some inbred royal bitch. It's not hard to forget about the nation that raped and pillaged the entire world 100 times over. Moreover, you could replace a lot of those functions with actually deserving citizens, thereby employing someone of higher qualities and better genetic distribution, being that the UK royalty is all inbred and probably full of the typical inbred genetic defects.

I imagine that the monarchy is one of the reasons why the UK ranks so lowly on the Human Development Index, on par with a Middle Eastern slave society.

Taking into account all these elements, the monarchy likely costs tens of billions to the British economy.
